General information about the International Automobile Scientific Forum

The first International Automobile Scientific Forum (IASF) took place in 2003. Over the recent years 8 scientific forums devoted to the following issues were held:

  • Environmentally friendly transport.
  • Energy saving and energy efficiency of vehicles and transport systems.
  • Active and passive safety of the new generation vehicles ensuring compliance with the prospective requirements.
  • E-transport and hybrid vehicles (vehicles with combined power plants).
  • National R&D base development.
  • Intelligent Transport Systems for Improvement of Energy Efficiency and Traffic Safety.

The average value of attendance of the scientific forums is more than 200 participants.

The forums' participating countries are as follows: Austria, Belgium, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, Israel, India, Spain, China, Russia, USA, France, Finland, Sweden, South Korea and others.

Among the participating organizations of the forums there are leading Russian and foreign automobile manufacturers and scientific & production associations: OJSC "AVTOVAZ", GAZ Group LLC, KAMAZ PTC, SOLLERS, BMW, VOLVO CARS, TOYOTA, AVL List GmbH, BOSCH, WABCO, Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Central Scientific Research Automobile and Automotive Engines Institute” (FSUE “NAMI”), Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMASH RAN) , Joint Institute for High Temperatures of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Joint Institute of Mechanical Engineering of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Association of Russian Automakers (OAR), Association of Automotive Engineers (AAE) of Russia and others.

Among the participants of the forums there are leading technical universities of Russia: Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI), Moscow Polytechnic University, South Ural State University (National Research University), Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University and others.

Conference theme / subjects to be covered:

  • prospects of development of new types of transport: cabinless, autonomous (driverless);
  • modern trends in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS);
  • control systems for transport flows; vehicle, infrastructure and human communication systems;
  • technical equipment of advanced vehicles: computer vision, navigation systems, additional equipment;
  • on-board and stationary road situation and vehicle driving simulation systems;
  • regulatory and legal framework of autonomous driving, issues of autonomous vehicle equipment testing (including public road testing) and certification;
  • cyber security of autonomous driving systems;
  • social and economic problems of autonomous vehicle implementation;
  • intelligent control systems and their components for agricultural machinery.

The Forum work results will be as follows:

  • analysis and offers regarding modern trends of development of intelligent transport systems, including new types of driverless, cabinless transport;
  • analysis and offers regarding innovative technical and technological solutions for development, production and implementation of intelligent transport and its systems;
  • integrated assessment and development trends of technical systems ensuring advanced vehicle (driverless, cabinless) driving;
  • discussion and analysis of ways to solve the issues of release of new types of transport to the public roads, testing in pilot regions and general development of regulatory and legal framework in the field of intelligent transport and its systems;
  • integrated assessment of practical feasibility and risks connected with application of intelligent transport systems.

IASF-2020 benefit:

Exchange of experience, discussion of solutions for relevant tasks in the field of development, creation, production and implementation of technologies of new types of transport systems, including autonomous (driverless) transport, control systems for transport flows (intelligent transport systems), integrated analysis of possible technical, technological and regulatory and legal solutions.
